Learning Disabilities Checklist:

  1. Apply online to Fullerton College by following the directions on our website:
    www.fullcoll.edu (Click “Apply Online”)

  2. Call and make an initial appointment at the Disability Support Services office.


  3. Bring to the initial appointment your recent testing/psychological report from your high school. You can get this information from your case carrier.
    *Also, if you are able to complete the Special Admit application (see #4) before your intake appointment, please bring it to the appointment as well.


  4. Complete the Special Admit Application so you can be enrolled in the Learning Assessment Class (STSV 72) for the current semester. Please note you will need the principal of your high school or designee and one of your parents to sign the application.


  5. A DSS staff member will help you make an appointment regarding your next step. It will either be for updated assessment or for follow-up and registration assistance.


  6. Bring to the next appointment:

    a) A check (payable to Fullerton College) to add the STSV 72 class.
    The fees are as follows:
    $10.00 enrollment fee (for students without BOGG fee waiver),
    $14.00 health fee (not covered by BOGG fee waiver),
    and $2.50 optional student ID card fee.
    Please note: If you are applying as a Special Admit student, the $10.00 enrollment fee is waived.

    b) The completed Special Admit Application

  7. Go to the Assessment Center to take your placement exams (Rm. 513, Mon.-Fri. 8-5, Sat. 9-2, no appointment necessary, test are un-timed). Bring a photo ID and your student ID#. Keep the results that you obtain.


  8. Follow through on the necessary follow-up appointment(s) at DSS, which may include testing, test results, follow-up, and registration assistance. Bring your placement exam results with you to your registration assistance appointment.


  9. Use WebStar online registration in July to register for your fall classes. Pay your registration fees within 72 hours. You will receive a printout of your enrolled classes from A&R in the mail.


  10. Bring the printout to DSS within the first 2 weeks of the semester so we can put a copy of it in your file.


  11. Take the printout to Student Affairs to get your photo taken for your student ID card.


  12. Show up the first day of class or you will be dropped by the instructor.


  13. Remember to request Instructor Letters and DSS services, such as note-taking assistance, alternate media, furniture accommodations, interpreting, and equipment loans, as soon as possible.
